The Yoga Retreat is an island paradise with crystal clear water and pure white sands… a true sanctuary of peace and natural beauty. It is located across the bay from Nassau on one of the finest beaches of the world. Five and a half acres of tropical paradise await you where you will find a heaven far from the hectic demands of everyday life.
The Retreat is built around a semi-closed outdoor meditation temple. There are spacious exercise platforms facing the warm blue green water of the Caribbean. Swaying palms provide you with shade and shelter. You can stay in one of our cozy wooden cabins, or if you prefer, you may pitch a tent in the quiet coconut grove. Here is the perfect environment for you to enjoy the warm companionship of like-minded people from around the world.
Pleasant, simple lodgings include a choice of semi-private rooms overlooking the ocean, or comfortable cabins clustered around an oriental-style footbridge. Tents may be pitched in a shady coconut grove. Advanced reservation is necessary. As some categories of accommodation fill quickly, we recommend you reserve early.
You do not need to be a yoga practitioner to come on the retreat. Although the teaching makes reference to the 12 steps, Yoga of Recovery is an independent retreat for people in recovery. It is not affiliated with any 12-step program and it is not a requirement that guests are a member of any 12-step program. Attendance at the open 12-step meeting is optional.
We require alcohol/chemically dependent guests to have at least three months of continuous sobriety. Those with eating disorders and behavioral addictions (relationships, gambling, spending etc.) should have enough stability to embark on this work.
Ayurvedic Consultations are available with Durga during the retreat for additional fee – book with Durga when you arrive. Ayurvedic treatments are available at an additional cost through the Well-Being Center. It is recommended to book treatments in advance of the course

This retreat offers a comprehensive program that integrates Ayurveda and Yoga with recovery tools and 12-Step Principles, for a holistic mind, body and spirit approach for all those affected by addiction and self-destructive behaviors, and for people with family members with histories of addiction.
We explore the root causes of addiction and healing from addiction using a multi-dimensional perspective, focusing on healing the physical body, strengthening the mind and cultivating Sattva—peace and serenity. Every age group and all addictive and self-destructive tendencies are addressed.
Among other things, you will also explore deeper aspects of the physical dimension of healing from addiction through Ayurveda, that works at healing and purifying the body and mind.
Please note: we require alcohol/chemically dependent guests to have at least three months of continuous sobriety. Those with eating disorders and behavioral addictions (relationships, gambling, spending, etc.) should have enough stability to embark on this work.
Private Ayurvedic consultations and body treatments will also be available (additional fee and pre-booking required).

Guest feedback from previous Yoga of Recovery retreat at The Yoga Farm – “I came to the YoR retreat mainly to grow in my sprituality and bring more yoga into my daily life. The benefits that I have gained have far exceeded my expectations. I learned how disconnected I was to myself and how I was filling myself with empty promises and worldly goods that left me feeling more depleted than before I started. I gained a connectedness to my body and soul that I have never experienced before. I am able to listen to what my body needs (not what it has been programmed to want) and satisfy that need with what I have learned. … The Yoga of Recovery retreat gave me the courage, as well as settled some underlying fears, …. The lectures helped me to gain insight into my addictive behaviors that I had been engaging in even though I was 14 years sober. I learned how to eat and take care of needs that had gone ignored in the past. By better understanding who I am through the Ayurveda ways of living, I feel as if I have found the person I was always meant to become. Underneath the fear, the weight, the food, the emotions, and the shame, my experience at the Ashram and Yoga of Recovery retreat have helped me to find the courage to change and be more connected to myself, my higher power, and my larger community. I would recommend this retreat to anyone in or out of recovery who is searching for a deeper sense of self.” The Yoga Farm is in the beautiful Sierra foothills of Northern California – surrounded by rolling hills, forests of oak and pine, and clear streams. Here are 70 acres of secluded peace and solitude, where the sounds of nature soothe the mind and body – ideal for yoga retreats and meditation. In spring and summer yoga classes are held on the outdoor deck shaded by a grove of oak trees. You can take a meditative walk in our Peace Miracle Labyrinth; casual, contemplative walks around the beautiful 40 acres, and the adjacent 30 acres or hike the 108 steps to Siva hill. A cedar sauna is open year round. Pleasant, simple lodging in dorms, double occupancy rooms or cabins. Our cabins are set on the hillside overlooking the pond and surrounded by the natural beauty of the ashram, providing total peace and tranquility. If you prefer to sleep closer to nature in the fresh, clean open air you can bring your own camping gear. Ayurvedic Consultation and Body Treatment available for additional fee. Book early to ensure availability of therapists.
Yoga of Recovery: Addressing the Root Cause of Addictive Tendencies
October 6-8 Retreat; October 6-15 Immersion / Certificate Course

Tuition: $395 includes meals and accommodations
Yoga of Recovery invites us to undertake heartfelt self-reflection around our various addictive processes and guide us on how to utilize the many healing aspects of the vedic sciences in the recovery process.
We’ll look at our own story – to trace the roots of our addictive behaviors. This approach appeals to all types of people … those in long-term recovery, those reluctant to call themselves an ‘addict’, those who prefer secular self-help programs over the 12-steps, those who are not sure they have ‘addiction’ but know they need help with some aspect of their life, those who ‘do’ yoga, those who ‘can’t do yoga” – EVERYONE!
Let’s change our story from one of suffering to one of healing – making use of yogic practices that appeal to our emotional temperament – physical practice, devotional practices, self enquiry techniques, psychology and philosophy. You’ll also love the Ayurvedic tools – the science of self healing, helping us to EMBODY our recovery : )
You may take this program as a retreat or a professional training.
Tuition: Retreat $395 includes room and meals (contact firstname.lastname@example.org for early bird pricing by 9/8); Full Training $1695
